In preparation of this year’s 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PEACE, SECURITY FOR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WALK which will be held on 18th to 20th May 2022, at Mwai Kibaki Convention Centre, MKU Thika the organizers are persuaded that the message of peace is so critical and should be spread to our communities through A PEACE WALK.
We hence invite you for a peace awareness walk across all Mount Kenya university campuses ie Main Campus Thika, Nakuru, Nairobi/ Parklands, Kisii, Eldoret, Mombasa, Malindi and Meru.
The peace awareness walk aims at;
- Sensitizing the communities in your area the need to embrace and sustain peace at all times and more so during the electioneering period and after.
- Passing the message on the importance of having peaceful elections
- Engaging the relevant authorities on matter- peace and security
- Engaging the communities on importance of having peaceful coexistence
- Condemning the propagators of violence especially in the electioneering period
- Emphasizing to relevant authorities on the need have accountability structures
- Educate the public on need to report cases or planned violence
