Mount Kenya University celebrates the conferment of degrees and award of diploma and certificates to 6507 graduands who satisfied the board of examiners in a glamorous event held at Mwai Kibaki Convention Centre.

The event was presided over by Chancellor Prof. John Struthers and attended by Prof. Deogratius JAGANYI, VC , Prof. David Serem Chairman University Council, Dr. Vincent Gaitho, Pro-Chancellor and Dr. Jane Nyutu, Co-founder & Member BoD. The event was witnessed by faculty members who wore their full academic regalia, administrative staff, parents, guardians and guests. The celebration ambience was evident from all the graduates and their parents who gathered around the Alumni Plaza, Main Campus Thika.

Mount Kenya University has conferred honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) of Mount Kenya University to Mr. Daniel M. Yumbya, MBS, EBS for his contribution to the community and the medical field at large.

The University has committed to release more scholarships to enable the needy students to smoothly continue with their studies. Currently MKU foundation has issued 419 internal scholarships to deserving students.

Recently the university received an innovative Infrastructural medical training equipment that will boost research and community service. The management has said it is at the advanced level of setting strategies to open the research facility to members of public and other research institutions.
