Until Friday night John Njogu Ngarachu was just a Student, youth, businessman, Photographer and Brand ambassador African Living Statue and Events. From then henceforth he has a new title to his name; Mr MKU 2019/2020 Thika Campus.


The tall, light, humble and thin penciled Mr MKU 2019/2020 hails from Naivasha, Nakuru County and joined Mount Kenya University to pursue his academic dream. The 3rd Year pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce ( Accounting option ) had other dreams, too, of touching lives through fashion. John sums up his term in four words "Achieving Unity through fashion".


Meet Jemima Wanjiru Karanja Miss Chubby 2019/2020

Miss Chubby 2019/2020"As Miss Chubby, God willing, I will create a platform for the plus size ladies to come out in large numbers in order to explore and showcase their talents and passion in the modelling and fashion industry. And to help then overcome body shaming attacks"


Hailing from Embakasi Central, Nairobi County, the 2nd Year Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management Student at main Campus Thika, Jemima Wanjiru Karanja is a lady with a huge heart just like her body which she is proud of and flaunts. And on Friday 8th November 2019 , her efforts to champion for body positivity tucked in fashion were rewarded after she was crowned Miss Chubby MKU main campus Thika in front of cameras and fellow students.

In her 9 months tenure, the Real Estate Management Student plans to champion for body positivity more and create platforms where plus size ladies can showcase their talent and join the army of soldiers fighting body shaming. She also plans to start a Support group for victims of body shaming to help alleviate stress, depression, suicide and cases of low self esteem.

I also have plans underway to mentor upcoming models to horn their skills and offer opportunities in order to give them a chance to live up to their dreams"


Hers is a story of determination, falling down and picking herself up after an embarrassing experience in 2017 where her name was left out in the final list of participants.
