Following presentation to an international jury of expert, and investors the project “molepse bioresources” emerged the prize winner in the category “special impact” which includes a grant prize of 5000 € .

Mr. Donatus Njoroge innovation “ Molepse BioResources”  has scooped the win during ISC3 Innovation Challenge on Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture which was held in  Germany from 25th to 29th September 2023.

Molepse BioResources is pioneering novel organic pesticides for grain farmers, through fourth industrial revolution technologies. Dudukit is a multi-target repellant that kills both larvae and live weevils and has been processed using nanotechnology to improve its use and effectiveness. The kit is inserted in the storage bag after breaking the seal and lasts for 6 months without the need to reapply. Its eco-friendly, affordable and easy to use.

He presented his work during the 5th session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5),which was organized by UNEP and hosted by the government of Germany at the World Conference Center Bonn (WCCB).

The head, Innovations, IP and Community engagement had been invited by The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre ISC3 to present his – Molepse BioResources ( Bio Pesticide Innovation) as part of 8 finalists of the ISC3 Innovation Challenge on Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture.

Other finalist of the challenge included: BIOWEG (Germany), Neptunus Biotech (Mexico), Ashaya, (India), Alkyl Recycling, (Netherlands), Zila BioWorks,( USA), Materials in Works, (Malaysia), and NatuPla,(Colombia).

At Mount Kenya University Donatus Njoroge is the Head, Innovations, Intellectual Property and Community Engagement.
