The Computer Science programmme is hosted by school of Computing and Informatics. Computer technology pervades every aspect of our modern lives and each technological advance transforms the world in which we live and work.

The MKU School of Computing and Informatics offers the much sought after skills in Information Communication Technology (ICT), The school has many laboratories and qualified lecturers and support staff whose desire is to equip you with the most trending technologies and knowledge that gives you a competitive edge in the market.

The University has partnerships with global IT giants such as IBM and Oracle to make the courses even more industry-focused.

Minimum Requirement to Join Bachelor of Science in Computer Science are either:

  1. KCSE mean Grade C+(plus) with C (plain) in Mathematics and English/Kiswahili
  2. A-Level with a minimum of 2 (two) principal passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and 1 (one) subsidiary pass

Due to the practical nature of the course, the programme is offered on full time regular study mode and takes 8 semesters and each semester is charged at KSh. 55,550 per semester.

The University has invested heavily in ICT infrastructure starting with biometric controlled access system, CCTV, SAKAI e-learning platform, KOHA and OPAC library system that give the student chances to research and develop their own digital innovations.
