Denning Okato Alumni Representative Speech

DENNING’S SPEECH

Ladies and Gentlemen, today I stand before you with a lot of ecstasy. I have dreamt of this day since I graduated in the year 2015, a day that would bring all alumni of The Parklands Law Campus together. It has been ten years since Mount Kenya University had its first Law graduates. Today, as we gather in a very nostalgic way to reminisce the good old days, we wish for nothing less than God’s Favor in both our endeavors and the university’s growth. As a proud alumnus of this great university, allow me to note that indeed I have unlocked infinite possibilities albeit the shade. Fellow alumni, this is our day, lets cherish it as we pave way for many more, we were here, we shall be there, our name, place and impact shall always linger in the minds of all and sundry.

Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to congratulate the university’s management for taking a bold step to introduce the LLM programme, this is a milestone that awaits accolades, stories will be told of formidable alumni from the LLM programme as some have already been told of our alumni from undergraduate. With the industrious management that we have, I have no shadow of doubt that we aim for the sun if not the milky way. I welcome you to join the programme for your carrier advancement.

Dear Alumni, let us all come together in one accord, it is our moment to shine, let the glitters outline our commitment to making this nation great. Let our zeal and aspirations fulfill the expectations of all those we serve, let our nature nurture those that come after us and bewilder in agreement those that came before us.

To those who are yet to join us as proud alumni, fear not, you will find a safe place, together we shall go far, no retreat, no surrender. The future of MKU Parklands Law Campus is ours to deem because from where I stand, the brightness is blinding me. Am obliged!!
