MKU donates Ksh 500,000 to needy students

Mount Kenya University has donated Ksh 500,000 to the Kisii County Governor’s bursary kitty.

The university founder and Board of Trustees Chairman Dr Simon Gicharu says the institution is committed to transforming education in the country.

Speaking during the commissioning of a new location of its Kisii Campus, Dr Gicharu said the university will pull out all the stops in establishing adequate physical and academic infrastructure.

He handed over the cheque to Kisii County Governor James Ongwae at the university’s Campus at Gesonso.”This will go a long way to assisting the very needy students from the County,” said Ongwae.

Dr Gicharu, who is also the Chairman of the Rural Electrification Authority visited some of the primary in the county where the authority has electrified.
