Life at campus amidst Covid-19 pandemic
Mount Kenya University is at the forefront in fighting Covid-19 pandemic in all its campuses and ODeL centres. The COVID-19 containment and preventive measures have been enhanced with the phased resumption of students for the January –April Semester , 2020/2021 academic year.
A walk in the campus start with mandatory handwashing session and temperature check at the entrances. Hand washing stations and sanitizers are strategically placed for convenient usage at the offices and common areas like the lifts, stairways, library, hostels and students centre.
Wearing of Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) approved masks while in campus is a mandatory requirement .To enhance safe disposal of used masks, yellow labeled dustbins are evenly distributed at the campus.
The students are now coping with the new normal and have acquired online research and communications skills after an extensive training and have embraced digital and blended learning during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

Sporting activities at the campus are still minimal; students are encouraged to use the field for non-contact games such as athletics and swimming.The indoor games centre is open for fitness activities.
The Pandemic has been a life changer for us all and we urge all students to embrace the guidelines issued by the Kenyan government in line with fighting Covid-19.
