To qualify for appointment a candidate must have the following:

  1. An earned PhD degree qualification in the relevant area from a recognized/accredited university;
  2. At least three (3) years teaching and research experience in a university.

 OR

A Master’s degree qualification in the relevant area of specialization from recognized/accredited university

  1.  At least three years teaching and research experience at a university,
  2. Relevant Work experience in Industry will be an added advantage
  3. Be registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree qualification;
  4. Be registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable).

Applicants seeking the position of a visiting professor should have met all the requirements of the position.

Terms of Engagement

Successful candidates will be engaged on contractual basis as associate Faculty (part-time), adjunct Faculty or visiting Professors These positions will attract a competitive remuneration package.

Successful candidates will be retained in the Mount Kenya University database for a period of 6 years subject to satisfactory performance of allocated duties and responsibilities.
