The Chancellor, Mount Kenya University, Prof. Victoria Wells Wulsin on behalf of the University Council, Management Board and Senate wishes to inform all our esteemed 2011/2012 academic year graduands who have qualified for conferment of Degrees and various University Academic Awards, that the Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 7th December, 2012.
All prospective graduands should note the following:
1. VENUE AND GRADUATION DATE.
The graduation will be held at the Main Campus in Thika on Friday, 7th December, 2012 at 9.00 am.
2. REGISTRATION.
Prospective graduands are required to make applications for graduation on the University prescribed form MKU/EXAM/F08A and MKU/EXAM/F08B available in the office of the Registrar, Academic Affairs at the Main Campus (Thika), University Campuses and can be downloaded from the links below:

Duly filled forms should be submitted to the respective Dean of Schools by 15th November 2012.
3. VERIFICATION OF ACADEMIC RECORDS AND ORDER OF NAMES
Graduands will be required to verify with their respective Head of Departments the correctness and order of their names and other course details by 15th November, 2012. The graduands already approved by their respective schools can view their names here

4. REHEARSALS
All graduands intending to participate in the ceremony MUST attend the rehearsals on Thursday 6th December, 2012 at the Graduation Square at 9.00 am.
5. GRADUATION GOWNS
Graduands are expected to be in full graduation gown for both the rehearsal and the graduation ceremony on Thursday, 6th December, 2012 and Friday 7th December, 2012 respectively. Graduation gowns will be available for hire between 28th November, 2012 and 5th December, 2012 for collection from the office of the respective Dean of Schools, Main Campus and from the examinations offi ces in respective Campuses. The hired graduation gown MUST be returned on or before Friday, 21st December, 2012 at 5.00 p.m. Any delay in returning the gown will attract a daily charge of Kshs.500/-
6. INVITATION CARDS
During the hiring of graduation gown, each graduand will be issued with invitation cards for their guests. No person without the invitation card will be allowed into the graduation square during the ceremony.
7. PUNCTUALITY
On the graduation day, graduands and their guests will be expected to have taken their seats by 8.30 a.m. Those arriving late will not be allowed into the graduation ceremony venue.

Graduands are expected to clear all outstanding fees balances and the Graduation Gown hiring fees before graduation. 9. COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES
The dates for collection of certifi cates will be announced by the Registrar, Academic Affairs. Graduates who have not collected their certifi cates and Transcripts since Thika Institute of Technology (Precursor to Mount Kenya University) to date are informed that any late collection beyond a grace period of one year after graduation attracts storage fees.
