Transmitting on the frequency 107.9FM in Kigali, Rwanda, the radio station, which has been predominantly broadcasting entertainment will now be airing news items and features. This follows acquisition of new equipment that includes a 10-seater van that will be used by reporters in gathering news.

Board of Trustees Chairman Simon N. Gicharu said he envisions the radio station as not only a tool for training students undertaking broadcast journalism courses at MKU Kigali Campus, but also as a force to reckon with in the radio broadcast commercial market in Kigali. “We have the best facilities, the best presenters and are training the best journalists. Our collective goal  should be to become number one even in the ratings.”
