6th graduation ceremony announcement : Friday 25th July 2014

The Chancellor, Mount Kenya University, Prof. Victoria Wells Wulsin on behalf of the University Council, Management Board and Senate wishes to inform all our esteemed graduands who have qualified for various University Academic Awards and conferment of Degrees, that the 6th Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 25th July 2014.

All prospective graduands should note the following:

 1. Venue and Graduation Date.

 The graduation will be held at the Mount Kenya University Thika –Garissa Road Graduation Pavilion Grounds on Friday, 25th July 2014 at 9.00 am.

 2. Chief Guest.

The Ceremony will be presided over by the University Chancellor, Prof. Victoria Wells Wulsin, M.D, Ph.D.The Chief Guest will be Hon. Dr. John Muyingo, Minister of State for Higher Education, Republic of Uganda.

3. Verification of Academic Records and Order of Names

The graduands already approved by their respective schools can view their names by clicking here or  download a pdf here.

 4. Rehearsals

All graduands intending to participate in the ceremony must attend the rehearsals on Thursday 24th July 2014 at the Thika –Garissa Road Graduation Pavilion Grounds at 10.00 am.

 5. Graduation Gowns

Graduands are expected to be in full graduation gown for both the rehearsal and the graduation ceremony on Thursday, 24th July 2014 and Friday 25th July 2014, respectively. Graduation gowns will be hired as from 6th July 2014 to 18th July 2014 and will be collected from the office of the respective Deans of Schools at the Main Campus and from the Examinations offices in respective Campuses.
The hired graduation gowns MUST be returned on or before Friday, 8th August 2014 at 5.00 p.m. Any delay in returning the gown will attract a daily charge of Kshs.500/-

7. Invitation Cards

During the hiring of graduation gown, each graduand will be given two (2) invitation cards for their guests. No person without the invitation card will be allowed into the Graduation premises during the ceremony.

 8. Punctuality

On the graduation day, all graduands will participate in the graduands procession in order of their respective schools at 7.00 a.m . Graduands and their guests will be expected to have taken their seats by 8.00 a.m. Those arriving late will not be allowed into the Graduation Square.

9. Collection of Certificates

Certificates will be ready for collection on Monday, 18th August, 2014.

Graduates who have not collected their certificates and transcripts are informed that any late collection beyond a period of one year after graduation attracts a storage fee of Kshs.1, 200 per annum.
