Before Ms Gladwell Nderitu was appointed Google Ambassador for Mount Kenya University, “Google” was just a common term viewed by many students in their web browsers but now there is full awareness in Google apps and products.
Mount Kenya university now has G-Team, it all started when Google launched the programme in July 2011, Google Student Ambassador Program/
as part of its commitment to empower the academic community with knowledge, infrastructure and tools to access information easily and effectively.
The Ambassador in corporation with “G-team” has a mandate to empower students with knowledge on all Google apps and products and tutor them on how to use them for education and avail information of new Google products.
G oing Google meant pushing about a campaign drive or awareness on what Google had in store for everyone and its usefulness to us in our daily lives and more also, how we could use these products to benefit ourselves. In MKU, she organized an awareness day whose theme was “Google Apps for Education” held on 21stJULY 2012. Google has so much in store for us and for all be it in any sector. Most of us use Google Search, and that’s one of Google’s product, others like viewing YouTube videos and still that’s another Google’s product. Currently Google search is the most widely used search engine in the world with more than a million hits per day. YouTube on the other hand is now offering you an opportunity to go to London without a dime from your pocket. Just visit The Olympics and join us as we support #Team Kenya.
Mount Kenya University acknowledges the existence of GTEAM.
