Introduction

The course is intended to equip the trainees with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable him/her to perform and manage community development activities.

Objectives of the course

By the end of the course the trainee should be able to : -

i. Participate in the management of community development projects

ii. Appreciate the role of community organizations in social development

iii. Understand the role of stakeholders in provision and management of resources

iv. Promote ethical practices and intergrate gender in development activities

v. Appreciate the role of communication in social development

vi. Appreciate the importance of self entrepreneurial skills in the national development.


Entry Requirement

Trainees entering this course should have any of the following requirements: -

  • Passed relevant craft course
  • Passed KCSE with an aggregate grade of C-
  • Equivalent qualifications

Award of Certificate

On completion and satisfaction of the examining body by the trainee, the trainee shall be awarded a Diploma Certificate in Community Development. Of Mt Kenya university.
