Introduction

The course focuses on strategic areas of management. Successful organizations, whether large or small, are well managed.  The development of management skills within an organization is an essential part of continued business growth. The programme is meant to meet the current need for mangers with broad based training, who are at the same time specialists in a given area of business. The programme incorporates Information Technology to help meet the demands of the current demands of business world. This programme has been designed to deepen and broaden the students’ practical knowledge and skills in business management in preparation for the labour market, self employment as well as for further studies at related at degree level.

Aims and Objectives

This programme aims to achieve the following objectives:
1.To develop an understanding of the general issues and approaches to business and management
2.To enhance self-confidence and the ability to critically evaluate business and develop solutions from moral, professional and the academic perspectives
3.To instill a problem solving attitude and business ethics in the practice of management.
4.To prepare the candidates for progression to degree levels

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
SASS- 2
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements for entry in Certificate programme:
either
1.Be holders of aggregate grade of C- in KCSE and grade C- in Mathematics and English.
Or
2.Division III in KCE with credit passes in mathematics and English
Or
3.Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements for entry in Diploma programme:
either
4.Be a holder of aggregate grade of C in KCSE and grade C- in Mathematics and English.
Or
5.Be a holder of KACE certificate with a Division III in KCE with credit passes in mathematics and English
Or
6.Be holder of holder of an accredited certificate with a credit pass that is recognized by the University Senate
Or
7.Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above
