Introduction

The electronic craft course is intended to prepare trainees to service, repair , diagnose and rectify faults in electronic equipments. The course is designed to provide knowledge skills and attitudes which will lead to self employment as well as providing manpower needs in the field of electronics industry.

Objectives of the course

At the end of the course, the trainees should be able to: -

  • Safely handle materials, tools and equipment related to the trade.
  • Understand the functions and operations of electronic circuit and equipment
  • Acquire sufficient knowledge and skills in electronics to be able to service radio and television and repair other electronic equipment
  • Use scientific and mathematical knowledge in solution and electronic problems encountered in the trade
  • Acquire sufficient drawing knowledge and skills to enable them draw and interpret electronic circuit diagrams
  • Communicate effectively on matters related to electronics and environment
  • Appreciate various occupational and training opportunities available in electronic field.
  • Display skills, knowledge and attitudes that would enable them to be self, employed, salaried or proceed with further training.

Entry Requirements

Trainees entering this course should have

  1. A pass in a relevant artisan course
  2. passed KCSE with an average grade of D+

Award of Certificate

On completion and satisfaction of the examining body by the trainee, the trainee shall be awarded a Craft Certificate in Electronics Engineering.
