Diploma in HIV/AIDS Management

Introduction

The course is meant to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to effectively deal with both infected and affected members of communities who are threatened by the scourge. This course will establish a critical mass of human resource that will have been empowered to manage multidisciplinary programmes that provide preventive, promotive and management care for HIV / AIDS in chosen field of work.

Goals of  The Programme

• To provide students with knowledge of the scope and extent of the pandemic and the importance of integration of control programmes in their places of work.
• To improve the students communication and computer skills and empower them with the ability to work in the community
• help in offered preventive, promotive, nutritive and rehabilitative services among those infected and affected, while upholding professional ethics and etiquette
• Confer counseling and leadership skills, dynamism and innovativeness in dealing with the scourge in their varying professions.

Admission Requirements

Candidates wishing to study for the course must satisfy any the following minimum requirements:

• Be a holder of KCSE certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C in Biology and C- in English / Kiswahili.
• Be a holder of Division II in KCE
• Be a holder of KACE with minimum of one principal pass in Biology
• Be a holder of a Certificate in HIV / AIDS management
