Identify homegrown solutions to tackle the emerging security threats
The Institute of Security Studies, Justice & Ethics in collaboration with the MKU School of Law recently hosted a public lecture on “Criminal Justice Management: Challenges and Prospects.“
Advocate Paul Ng’arua who served as a senior trial attorney at the United Nations International Tribunal for Rwanda and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for the Kingdom of Swaziland was the keynote speaker. He discussed the role of the International Criminal Tribunals citing the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and Yugoslavia as case studies. The need to identify homegrown solutions to tackle the emerging security threats in Kenya was addressed and in particular the mandate of the National Cohesion & Integration Commission in the Kenyan context.
