MKU hosts 5iiRC2018 stakeholders breakfast
The 5iiRC2018 conference breakfast launch was carried out today at Crowne Plaza Restaurant, Upper Hill. The launch brought together key stakeholders and partners from the institutions of high learning, government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, etc all seeking to explore ways of partnering with the organizers of the conference. The launching ceremony was officiated by Dr. Alice Kande, Commission for University Education, representing CUE Chairman, Prof. Chacha Nyaigoti Chacha. The guest speaker applauded the spirit of cooperation between the four partnering institutions in Africa and challenged the conference organizers to also bring on-board universities from outside Africa in future.
During the meeting, Dr. Salome Guchu, CEO Kenya National Innovation Agency appreciated the initiative and encouraged the conference organizers to bring on board government agencies from the Ministry of ICT. Prof. Stanley Waudo, the Vice-Chancellor MKU challenged the guests to embrace the culture of research since it will help us find solutions to the problems affecting the country. The conference whose theme is “Digital Innovation and Knowledge Economy: Opportunities and Challenges towards Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” will be held between 17th to 19th October, 2018 at MKU, Main Campus, Thika.
Dr. Vincent Gaitho, Chairman Conference Steering Committee thanked the stakeholders present at the conference and encouraged them to participate in the conference through paper presentations, panel presentations and exhibitions.
