The course in economics and finance is geared towards enhancement of knowledge and skills in financial economics, financial management, financial markets, financial accounting, financial analysis, international finance, financial investments, financial forecasting, financial planning and decision making for the growth and sustainability of the economy. Graduates from this programme will be able to work in various fields including financial policy formulation and analysis, financial management of the economy, financial forecasting and investment, trade and financial markets for both public and private enterprises.

Due to the improved and fast economic growth, the current programmes are not fully addressing these market dynamics, therefore, a course in economics and finance would address these opportunities availed.
Upon successful completion of the prescribed course of study for Bachelor of Economics and Finance, graduates will have acquired knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to:
i) Mathematics and English or similar grades in an equivalent examination approved by the University Senate.
ii) KACE or equivalent Certificate with a minimum of 2 principles passes and O level Credit in Mathematics and English Language.
iii) Diploma in relevant disciplines with a minimum of C- (minus) at KCSE from an institution recognized by the University Senate.
